We provide software and services to more than 11,000 home services companies including home inspectors, moving companies, utility companies, and more. Through these relationships and our multiple brands, including HireAHelper, Porch provides a moving concierge service to homebuyers, helping them save time and make better decisions on critical services. These include insurance, moving, security, TV/internet, and ongoing home maintenance, repair, and improvement projects post-move.

HireAHelper is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to serve as a strong technical leader to drive efforts to build and maintain products and be part of a growing team with a strong focus on beautiful design and a great user experience.

What You Will Do

<ul>
<li>Collaborate with product management, web engineers, and data engineers to estimate, plan, and deliver features to production</li>
<li>Successfully work on software development projects and set timelines</li>
<li>Improve the company’s technical awareness, depth and use of technology across the business.</li>
<li>Maintain and document best practices, standards, and policies as it related to software development</li>
<li>Liaison with designers to decide on UI/UX elements</li>
<li>Run functionality testing (QA) and debug code</li>
<li>Maintain and improve on reporting tools/features, to analyze various data sets</li>
</ul>
What You Bring
<ul>
<li>At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing production software</li>
<li>Understands and can speak to all aspects of the software development life cycle</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience</li>
<li>Proven collaborator, with clear, open and honest communication</li>
<li>Extremely knowledgeable with following tools:
<ul>
<li>C#, ASP.NET (.NET Framework and .NET Core/Standard, MVC)</li>
<li>React</li>
<li>TypeScript (JavaScript)</li>
<li>Redis</li>
<li>Microsoft SQL Server</li>
</ul></li>
<li>Extensive experience in analyzing data, developing reports, and creating processes and systems so that reports can be accessed and analyzed by other users independently.</li>
<li>Adjust to new situations and escalate issues quickly for resolution</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Eager to learn new things</li>
</ul>
